Tyvek is advertised for car, RV and aircraft cargo covers. No mention of boat covers. What is the reason for this? Has anyone tried using it for boats? I'm looking for something very light and easy to handle even if it doesn't last as long as heavier fabrics.
The only tyvek boat cover material I have seen through the years for boats have been from the boat manufacturers used to transport their boats. I haven't seen one for a very long time. It doesn't mean they are not out there, but they aren't meant to last long enough to replace a real boat cover. I would recommend just a regular manufactured boat cover from one of the big name mfg's. The lightweight covers don't last as long, but price is very competitive. Look at this page for some background info on the big mfg's, that should help start you in the right direction.
