Looking to replace a missing rear support bimini top pole(and ends) for a 2011 Sea-Doo Challenger 210 (1 must have fallen off at some point). I have attached a few pictures of the entire pole, and the 2 ends (from the other side). Sea-Doo does not sell the parts individually (although I do think they sell the piece that is connected to the steel eye end in the picture that connect onto the boat). Question I have is the OEM end are inside ends. If ordering the pole with 2 inside ends how are the inside ends secured in? I don't see how the ends are held in on the existing support pole. If ordering the pole and inside ends do I measure the length of the pole I have including the 2 ends?
Thanks, Steve
Hi Steve,
The eye ends are held in by a special crimping device that creates an indentation. The only other way to secure the inside eye end is by drilling and rivet, screw, or bolt the eye end in. Which works nicely too.
There is another challenge that you would face using these bimini top parts. The pipe would need to be ordered a bit longer and recut by you with another cutting device. The tubing cutter I use and all tubing cutters create a small inside burr that will keep the eye end from sliding inside.
All of this can be be converted to outside eye ends just as easily and would look fine and function fine.
The poles I sell are all stainless steel and include the ss outside eye ends and are sold as a pair.
Let me know if you have any other questions or how else I can help.
Thanks for the question.
