What a cute name "Cover Girl"! Rats chewed a few holes 12" plus in diameter in a like-new pontoon canopy. I thought of iron on patches but can't find them that large. What about using marine canvas with a fabric adhesive? I have a small standard sewing machine if needed. I know you will have the answer.
Hi Haley,
Thanks for the compliment on the name, it’s been a fun name for me.
Bimini top patches that are stuck on a with built in adhesive or glued on will have a limited life span and not the greatest appearance.
Sewing is generally best and the fabric can be matched closely or right on.
In your case the problem is a small standard sewing machine and what type of thread you can use.
You will have no choice but to use a 92 thread because your sewing machine won’t be able to handle thicker thread and you will eventually need to re-stitch it again in a couple years, especially in Florida. Still it’s going to be your best bet.
I have a kit in the store that includes the thread, fabric, pins, tape and white pencil that might be a good fit for you.
I may be able to help with color match if you snip a small piece of fabric and send it in.
The store has more info on how to reach me.
Best Regards,
Tammy
