how do 50/50 poly cotton fabrics hold up?

please see question above?

Hi Bob,
Poly cotton can hold up very well in the north. Not so great in the south. Back before current fabric making technologies took hold and canvas was still all cotton, poly cotton made it's debut. It has been used for a long, long time on boats. It has been replaced as a fabric of choice, because there are so many other choices available. If mildew has a chance to set it, the fibers are subject to rot because of the cotton. As it ages it it will shrink and become brittle. Even with all that, poly cotton boat fabric still maintains it's place in todays market, it has a great fit, easy to fabricate, excellent price. In the north where you are it will last much longer than down here in the south.
So if you have a particular reason to use it, there are better choices, then use it. You have a lot of moisture in Spokane, so maybe weathermax 80 might be an alternative..
