Have you ever heard of a boat cover scratching or wearing paint off (AwlGrip) from a boat's topsides?

I am trying to choose a fabric for a winter storage cover for a 44' newly-painted painted sailboat. I'm scared that a fabric could chafe and mar the (very expensive!) paint job - especially if it got away in a winter storm and started flapping or flogging before I could get to it.
Thanks for your help!

Yes you are correct, boat cover material can scratch awl grip and other things as well.
I would possibly consider weathermax 80. It's a soft and very flexible fabric. Light weight, but also tough at the same time. I would reinforce any areas of concern with a fabric called Noah. Noah is a the lightweight breathable and soft fabric used for car covers. It makes great reinforcements for boat covers Between these two fabrics, you should have a winning team. By the way even cotton can scratch a boat if it gets loose and is beating against the boat. Good luck!
