A friend of mine is looking for some type of fabric or something that while he is out to sea fishing with his kids or something he can cover the front of the boat to give them a little shade while he could be in back of the boat.... Something that can still allow him to have a 360 degree view of the ocean.... Maybe something he can attach to the top of the captain canopy cove and stretch out to front of boat.. Thanks for any suggestions.
There are a variety of boat cover fabrics that could do this for you.
The one that jumps out at me is Sunbrellas new Clarity.
You could also use a mesh similar to what is used on lawn furntiture.
Fabricators use a lot of this type of mesh as sunscreens for boat enclosures to give additional shade to the occupants of the boat. Some brand names are phifertex plus, Awntex 120, textilene 90.
Another possibilty, is to create a shade fly off the t-top. You can now purchase fly struts that would seat into a fishing rod inserts that would be strategically installed into the right spots.
This would support the fly out in front of the boat providing clear visability for fishing , but also shade for the kids.
I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions.
