I recently had my bimini top stolen off my boat. Do you know of any mounts that allow you to lock the bimini in place. My only other choice would be to remove the top and have to take it with me every time I leave the boat overnight in my slip at the local marina. My current mounts are 1/4" Knurl screws at the main poles and 1/4" Quick Release pins where the support poles mount. I cannot take the chance of my new top being stolen.
Hi Brian,
I'm really sorry to hear about your bimini top.
There really isn't locking bimini top mounts, although it's not a bad idea.
There is a way to secure it somewhat.
You could drill out a normal deck hinge and eye end where the screw is holding the eye end to the deck mount and put a small padlock on each side. If you did that you would also have to remove the set screw in the eye end that attaches the frame to the deck mount and drill and pop rivet the frame to the eye end. That is about a secure as I can come up with.
I wonder what the odds are that it would be stolen again.
I sure hope this doesn't become a further problem for you.
